Ceramic and Porcelain Tile

Ceramic & Porcelain

Porcelain tile is a type of ceramic tile made from fine clay and fired at high temperatures. It is denser and more durable than ceramic. Porcelain is also known to be exceptionally impermeable to water. While both are non-porous, porcelain is a better choice for flooring. Porcelain tile is available in various colors, styles, and sizes, making it a popular choice for residential and commercial applications. It is often used in kitchens, bathrooms, and other areas where moisture is present, as it is resistant to water damage and staining.

Natural Stone

Nothing beats the beauty and unique look of natural stone. Similar to a snowflake, no two pieces are the same. Stone stays naturally cool, which is terrific for warm climates. They’re also a natural heat conductor, making them a top choice to pair with radiant heat. Unfortunately, the stone is more expensive than porcelain and can easily stain, scratch and chip. Natural stone is best used in low-traffic areas such as Powder Rooms and Master Bathrooms.

Glass Tile

Glass tiles offer beautiful color and depth. All but the darkest glass tiles tend to reflect light rather than absorb it. They’re also easy to clean and are resistant to stains, mold, and mildew. One of the most significant drawbacks of glass tiles is the price. Not only is the material cost high, but the installation is also. Glass is tough to install, so it's best to hire someone with experience working with Glass.
