Stone Care

Proper Care for Your New Stone or Tile

Never use powdered cleaners or abrasive pads to clean stone. Some cleaners contain pumice or ammonia, both of which can damage the surface. Always use sealers and cleaning products that are specifically designed for natural stone surfaces instead.

Stone is extremely dense and porous. To prevent staining, your new stone or tile surface should be sealed as soon as possible. The number of times needed to reseal depends on how often the surface is used, as well as the quality of the sealer. If you notice that water is not beading around your sink, it may be time to reseal. Once sealed, natural stone is protected from everyday spills. All that’s needed is a quick polish, spray, and wipe.
